German men's team scores title hat trick

2007, 2008 and 2009 - the German men's team has won three titles in a row at European Championships. On Wednesday evening the host beat Denmark with 3-2. Timo Boll, Dimitrij Ovtcharov and Christian Süß each scored one point. Michael Maze won two matches for the Danes and gave an amazing performance. mehr >>

Timo Boll leads the German men’s team to semi finals

At the Porsche-Arena the German men’s team won after strong resistance of the young team from Sweden. An outstandingly strong Timo Boll took care of the 3-1 victory with two successes. Dimitrij Ovtcharov contributed the third point. mehr >>

German team reaches Quarterfinal

Germany early reached the quarterfinal at the 2009 LIEBHERR European Championships in Stuttgart with a 3:0 victory against Denmark which did not play with the best team. Germany’s men’s team had a good start into the tournament. The players around Timo Boll (Photo) won convincingly against the French team. A little surprise was the defeat of Dimitrij Ovtcharov, who lost against Christoph Legout. Two days prior to the start of the LIEBHERR European Championships (September 13-20) in Stuttgart, the German Table Tennis Association had invited to a press conference in the Porsche-Arena, one of the two playing halls of the event. ETTU training camp in China: Exhausting practise, high spirits

Chinese discipline and perseverance prevail in the table tennis center of Tongzhou. At 8.20 in the morning the long training day begins for 15 Europeans and 30 Chinese players. Among them is Germany’s national women’s team and their head coach, Jörg Bitzigeio. "The pracitsing units are very tough,” says the coach. Provisional nomination of German team for Stuttgart

Draw for preliminaries: Tough groups for German teams

Denmark, France, Spain: they will be the opponents of the German men's team at the preliminary stage of the LIEBHERR European Championships in Stuttgart. Germany's ladies will face the Netherlands, Italy and Turkey. Three days rest after winning three titles

"I will have a 3 day break and relax", commented Timo Boll. He definitely deserved it. The German was exhausted, but visibly content after winning the final of the men’s singles competition of the LIEBHERR European Championships in St. Petersburg, where he delivered a unique performance.
